The Future Project-3-28-2026.jpg

The future unfolds in filmmaker Dennis Dewey's latest movie, 2051: The Return Project, starring Jane Hart and Paul Schulman.  A scientist/candidate whose brain has been downloaded awakens to find himself in a strange, unwelcome world.  Elements and subplots include a hint of romance, lab intrigue and the human struggle and philosophical questions about what it means to be human for a lead character steeped in Shakespeare that manages to cope with his existential dilemma by taking comfort in his imagined companionship of Hamlet.

Set at the fictitious Humanistic Artificial Intelligence Lab in Palo Alto,California, the film was shot largely on location at MVCC Rome Campus aswell as SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Marcy, but with addition filming in New Mexico and Madrid, Spain.

The Return Project stars Jane Hart, the only member of the cast with training in acting (a B.A. in theater from Niagara University)whoplays Dr. Gloria Dennison. The other principal role (Dr. Richard Calbert)is portrayed by first-time actor and retired SUNY psychology professor, Paul Schulman.

Original music for the film was composed by local composer Brad Bennett, who also served as script consultantand assistant director. Pamela Schulman (wife of star, Paul Schulman) edited the screenplay.
