TONY TRISCHKA'S - EARLJAM
A TRIBUTE TO EARL SCRUGGS
8PM~FRIDAY, MARCH 22
Tony Trischka, the bluegrass banjo wizard that mentored Bela Flek and has earned international recognition as one of the best pickers on the planet. The enthusiasm and admiration that Billy Strings has for Tony has propelled Trischka into the ranks of musicians with multi-generational appeal. He comes to our stage just weeks after a tour de force performance at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
This is a rare opportunity for music fans to see Trischka in an intimate venue
close to home. He is considered the consummate banjo artist and perhaps its most influential player in the world. Heralded by the NY Times as "the father of modern blue grass,” over multiple decades his stylings have inspired a whole generation of bluegrass and acoustic musicians with the many voices he has brought to the instrument.
This special performance by Tony and his remarkable band pays tribute to Bluegrass legend Earl Scruggs, the pioneer of the three-finger banjo style and one of the most important musicians in bluegrass, or, in Tony’s opinion, in any genre!
Tickets are $30 in advance through Humanitix (click button above or below) and go on sale locally at Adirondack Cheese Co. on Rte. 12 in Barneveld on Friday, Feb.16 at 10am. Tickets the night of the concert (if available) will be $30 for Unity Hall Members and $35 for non-members.
