FREE DINOSAUR ADVENTURE
3PM~SUNDAY, OCTOBER 20
Finding a dinosaur can be accomplished by one person but, getting a dinosaur out of the ground is
always a team effort.
During this free event for kids in grades K-8, Paleontologists Mike and Roberta Straka will explain the different skills that have to come together for a successful paleontological dig.
Kids attending will experience the thrill of digging up a real Triceratops dinosaur bone and then help construct a dinosaur on a large cut-out!
The program features the actual skull of Mr. Nixon, a Triceratops discovered by the presenter's team in 1996.
In addition to learning the characteristics of this dinosaur, they will also be introduced to rare fossils during a hands-on and exciting educational adventure that includes a mini museum showcasing photos and minerals from their actual summer digs in South Dakota!
This Unity Hall event co-sponsored by the Barneveld Free Library is free for children accompanied by a parent or guardian to attend.
Free Tickets are available through Humanitix.
This special children's program is made possible by funds from the Stewarts Holiday Match Program and is co-hosted by the Barneveld Free Library.
