Shaun Robison, known as the “Charming Deceptionist,” has been creating magic for more than 40 years. His keen interest in magic started after seeing the film “Houdini” when he was 8 years old. At 10, like many other boys his age, he wanted a magic trick kit of his own and that launched his performance career. By the time he was 16 Shaun was studying with the well-known magician, and retired head of Hollywood’s Chavez School of Magic, Walter Cummings.

At 19, Shaun moved on from merely amazing his friends and family and turned “pro” performing at various local events. When he was in college, Shaun was doing research for a paper on the great Harry Houdini. It was then he discovered that his mentor, Walter Cummings, was the magician who taught Tony Curtis magic for “Houdini” the very film that had ignited his interest as a young child. Shaun had
come full circle! What magic!

Now Shaun has become a teacher and mentor himself. Leon Etienne, now a well known local magician of illusions that went on to earn international acclaim, was his protégé.
