John Stewart’s Classic Rock Concert Film Series

Returns to Unity Hall for Summer 2018

Many of you may recognize John Stewart as the retired superintendent of Poland Central School.  But what some may not know is that John has a passion for live music, and is teaming with Unity Hall for a six performance Rock Concert Film Series this summer. John is providing the public the opportunity to enjoy legendary performances by some of his favorite musicians  in larger-than-life high definition Blu-ray format on the Landecker Auditorium's 15' screen.

All shows are free admission for the public and will begin at 7:00pm.

Even if you have seen some before, advances in film and sound technology have also made it possible to improve the visual and audio quality concerts that had been previously released.

Several of the remastered films being featured this season also include performances and other bonus material not included in the original versions.

John states, “Last year’s series was well-received and so we’ve decided to offer more shows this summer. I love live music. My first concert was Paul Revere and The Raiders in 1966 and I continue to go to live performances today.  Certainly the Woodstock Festival in 1969 is the concert highlight for me, but there are many memorable times. I am also a music collector: LPs, CDs and DVDs.  I have an extensive collection of concert videos and am excited to share them with you.”

Taking in these concerts on the big screen at Unity Hall is a lot like experiencing them as they happened, with none of the expense and hassles the original audiences had to put up with. They're close to home, parking and admission is free, you get to decide what donation the refreshments we offer are worth, the restrooms are clean,  and there won't be someone on someone else's shoulders blocking your view!
