Barneveld – The Unity Hall Foundation is proud to present its Fall Season of Performing Arts. All shows are held in the Historic Second floor Theater of Unity Hall, located at 101 Vanderkemp Ave, in Barneveld. All shows begin at 8pm, unless otherwise noted, and are 2 sets with a short intermission. Fine refreshments are served, and all are welcome. Tickets are now available online, for more information on ticket sales and show information, please visit our website at www.unityhall.com 9/12/08 Linda Russell, Historical American Balladeer, *7:30pm* In honor of the upcoming election, please welcome Linda Russell as she explores America's past through song in a program titled “Songs America Voted By: Campaign Songs of the 19th Century”. Linda served as 18th century balladeer at Federal Hall National Memorial in NYC, and now, her performances are in demand at historic sites, schools and community centers around the country. Linda has performed around the US for 30 years, at such venues as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. This show is FREE to the public and is funded by New York Council for the Humanities, a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. 10/17/08 The Rusty Doves (bluegrass/swing/ragtime) Performing a wide variety of American music, including selections from the worlds of bluegrass, swing, and pop, as well as their own original material. Hailing from the Mohawk Valley, where the region’s unique history and musical traditions have shaped the Doves, giving their audience a captivating musical experience. The Rusty Doves are perfectly paired with Historic Unity Hall. Don’t miss this exciting first time performance from one of the area’s most original up and coming acts!
11/1/08 Joe Doolittle, Storyteller, *7:30pm* Raconteur Joe Doolittle will provide a historical and entertaining perspective of our region, with “Stories from Up and Down the Valley”. Tales of early French explorers, revolutionary heroes and heroines, and stories of the Erie Canal and Tug Hill plateau are sure to enthrall listeners. Joe is renown for his pleasant and often humorous style and wit. Won’t you join us in welcoming Joe to Unity Hall for this evening of educational and entertaining stories?
